What you’ll do:As a System Engineer within the DATA/OPS team, you are the specialist responsible for designing and maintaining our Kubernetes environment. You contribute to a performant, stable, and secure ICT infrastructure that supports our ships, yards, and offices. You work closely with colleagues from various teams and play a key role in the ICT support process.Your main tasks include:Designing and managing our Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.Supporting the management of our on-premise AI environment.Managing storage systems and Linux environments.Defining and executing projects independently or in collaboration with colleagues and suppliers.Establishing concepts and standards for the environment, aligned with the company’s vision and strategy.Acting as the final internal link in the ICT support process.Continuously contributing to a stable and high-performing ICT environment.Maintaining close collaboration with the development and architecture teams.What do you need?You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an ICT-related field and have at least five years of relevant experience. You are familiar with managing and supporting complex IT environments and projects. Additionally, you possess strong technical skills and have in-depth knowledge of container technologies, automation tools, and Linux systems.You understand the importance of security and stability and consistently apply these principles in your work. Concepts such as load balancing and high availability are well known to you. You are also familiar with ITIL principles and have experience working with ticketing systems.You are communicative and enjoy collaborating with different teams, such as development and architecture, to deliver the best solutions. You are comfortable defining and carrying out projects independently, either alone or in cooperation with colleagues or suppliers.Technologies you have experience with include, but are not limited to:Kubernetes, OpenShift, DockerHelm, Terraform, AnsibleLinux distributions (such as RedHat, Oracle Linux)Apache, nginx, RedisOS patching tools (e.g., Satellite) Why working for us:Working at Jan De Nul means joining the search for solutions to some of the greatest challenges of our time: from the energy transition and rising sea levels to smart mobility.
