EU quarter based, the NGO is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Finance to come lead the financial activities and shape the organization's future strategic direction.As part of the Management Team, the Head of Finance will work directly with the General Director, the different more operational teams, and the funding members.The role includes:
  • The financial accounting and analysis supervision
  • The budget and financial planning management with an Advisor role in terms of strategy and project financial management, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support the projects and activities
  • The financial risks and opportunities identification providing actionable recommendations
  • The reporting towards internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making across the organization
  • The continuous improvement of the financial tools, templates and general processes
  • The leadership and mentoring of the financial team
Strategic Head of Finance role within the NGO sector |Financial operations and funding managementThis leading position of Head of Finance requires a certain set of soft and hard skills, including:
  • A Bachelor's of master's degree in finance / accounting / business management - or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant financial experience (Audit, Finance Management, Business Controlling, …)
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is a real added value
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills with real vision - have a sense of mission
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
The organization works as a secretariat, steering and guiding the different partners in the policy changes at EU level, mainly on sustainable development.The Head of Finance will work on the financial aspects of the structure, with the management of 2 people, as well as working on the strategic funding plans.The role can be FULL TIME and/or 4/5 depending on the structure.The international organization offers a central and key role to play internally and externally. You will benefit from great exposure to key members of the not-for-profit landscape.
