Do you share our taste for life?Your roleThe Consumer & Market Insights Specialist generates strategic insights around markets, product categories, brands, and customer types to support strategies that drive growth. As market research expert, you will be responsible for the project management of market surveys and to transform insights into recommendations, providing marketing, trade marketing and commercial teams with a better understanding of their market. Together with the CMI team, you'll support fundamental marketing projects: brands development, product superiority roadmaps, channels strategies, category management programs… You will be reporting to the Consumer & Market Insight Lead and will be integrating the Marketing International team working on projects for both business lines: Bakery products and Plant Based Food Solutions products. Your scope of projects will be very diverse: from B2C to B2B projects, based on both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (studying brands/product testing/communication testing/segmentation/persona & customer journeys/market sizing…), and covering a large set of product categories (bread, pastries, patisserie, margarine, dressings, and sauces…). Most of your projects will be international.Your key responsibilities
Manage customer, market, and consumer research:
  • Define the needs for market research. Challenge marketing and trade marketing teams to translate their business questions into clear and relevant briefings.
  • Manage market research from A to Z: from briefing to implementation and results (internally or externally communicated) on various types of research: B2C (U&A, concept test, innovation, product test...) and B2B (channel analysis, operator segmentations, purchase process: distributor…).
  • Detailed quantitative analyses of market data, to develop data driven insights on consumers/customers, behaviors, buying preferences and patterns.
  • Market and category trends review to integrate into the IPM (Innovation Process Management).
Transform insights into actions: support (trade) marketing and commercial teams with a better understanding of their market:
  • Support HQ and local teams in building market intelligence: synthesizing conclusions into recommendations; organizing activation workshops; identifying information gaps.
  • Consolidate data from different markets, categories, and channels (distribution channels: Retail + professional, and OOH channels).
  • Provide inputs to market dashboards, category scorecards and ad-hoc: multiple functions of analytics, modeling, data management or reporting solutions.
  • Participate as VoC (voice of Customers) into strategic brand plans, channel plans…
Support market and customer centricity within the organization:
  • You're recognized as an expert within the organization and push further the customer centricity mindset.
  • Good presentation skills towards diverse stakeholders (marketing, R&D, sales, Management Team)
  • Follows up to ensure that actions are taken based on customer's needs.
  • Develop further the CMI department by creating/upgrading research frameworks, building benchmarks, creating CMI training…

Are you the one we're looking for?
  • You hold a master's degree in economics, psychology, marketing, or any relevant domain.
  • You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in market research, preferably within food companies or retailers.
  • You have strong experience with market research tools - both quantitative and qualitative
  • You are curious, passionate about research and eager to work on various types of research domains: market analysis, product development, communication, branding, category management, shopper survey…
  • You have/feel comfortable working with a holistic and strategic view.
  • You like working in a team and can operate in a matrix type structure with central management, local management, and functional leads from the international team.
  • You have strong project management skills & strong analytical skills - to deliver in-depth analysis of data (numeric) and insights (conceptual).
  • You have strong reporting & presentation skills: developing concise reports and presentations adapted to the target audience (management, internal teams, customers…).
  • You can work independently and like to take initiatives.
  • You are fluent in English. Any other language is a plus.
  • Ability to travel on an occasional basis (short trips).
