This internship is structured to allow candidates to explore one of several advanced AI projects, depending on their interests and skillset. All projects aim to push the boundaries of healthcare technology through innovative AI solutions.Possible Project TracksDuring the screening process, we'll determine which of the following projects aligns best with your profile:Self-Supervised Learning & Foundation Models:
Investigate how imbalanced healthcare data affects the training and performance of self-supervised and foundation models. Build a full pipeline from data handling to model evaluation.
Generative AI with Stable Diffusion:
Explore the use of stable diffusion methods to generate synthetic data for healthcare applications. Assess how these augmentations impact model training and performance.
AI Inferencing Pipeline Optimization:
Design and optimize a real-time AI inference framework for streaming healthcare data. Tackle bottlenecks in latency, memory management, and throughput for applications like video analytics and digital pathology.
Investigate how endoscopic image data can be used to estimate the kinematics of surgical robots using AI techniques. Contribute to data exploration, model design, and evaluation for applications such as tool tracking and surgical scene understanding.
Your Profile
Student in a technical discipline (e.g. computer science, AI, engineering)
Eligible to work at our HQ in Kortrijk, Belgium
Proficient in Python; C++ is a plus
Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch)
Familiar with Git and Docker
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Knowledge of image processing, computer vision, or medical data protocols (e.g. FHIR) is a plus
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
