For more information, please visit www.thermofisher.comAn exciting permanent opportunity has arisen at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. for a Life Sciences Inside Sales Representative to join our team based in Merelbeke!Position Summary:The primary functional objective of the position is direct contact with customers in the given segment, to initiate and develop relationships, which will ultimately generate sales. It is through these relationships that we will achieve the best possible sales representation for Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Pharma Biotech Inside Salesperson, you will be using the telephone, MS Teams, data science and email as your primary tools. Social media connections will also be an integral resource.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the achievement/overachievement of the sale target set by maintaining, identifying and developing sales opportunities through an out-bound sales activity, challenging within the stated territory and/or named accounts. Provide a revenue forecast for the assigned territory and products by month to the District Manager
  • Ensure that all necessary resources needed are used effectively in order to close sales in favour of the Company. Run and close sales leads generated by colleagues in Marketing and Technical Support.
  • Utilize data intelligence to analyze and develop sales opportunities with the greatest ROI. Communicate key competitive activities, market trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which include emerging customers
  • Build and manage relationships by telephone and email with customers and potential customers in an assigned territory to allow product and service information to be communicated and strategic information to be captured. Consolidate these relationships occasionally by field actions
  • Ensure a specific management of potential customers out of the database, qualifying their business potential in order to develop business opportunities and growth
  • Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, special projects as presented by the Company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with Company philosophy, policies, and procedures
  • Work together with other field sales to coordinate the approach on the accounts. This includes qualifying leads on high value accounts, supporting tender response coordination, ensuring all in-bound sales enquiry qualification and quote generation, coordinating customer demonstration
  • Develop and maintain detailed customer/prospect records and ensure that the relevant mailing list and database reflects this information (e.g. Customer Contacts Database, CRM and Marketing Database)
People Specification:
  • Degree in Life Science based subject (Preferably MSc/PhD) –
  • Some experience from a sales function in relevant industry would be an asset!
  • Good command of French and English
  • Good Interpersonal skills by phone with excellent listening & questioning skills
  • Strong capabilities to interact effectively with all customer types
  • Ability to function effectively in a high-performance team
  • Ability to manage time effectively, to prioritize and complete tasks required
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and desire to succeed
  • Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a constantly evolving business environment
  • Practical understanding of the sales process & buying cycle
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office package
  • Office based with 20% of time in the field to visit customers
