As part of our commitment to secure and sustainable energy systems, we design high-performance control technologies and cyber-resilient architectures for critical infrastructure.We are currently looking for an IT System Architect and Product & Solution Security Expert to strengthen our team at Grid Software in Beersel, supporting secure and resilient control systems for electrical power transmission for our clients. This role combines system design expertise with a strong focus on cybersecurity across the entire solution lifecycle.Your tasks
Design and implement Linux- and Windows-based IT systems for network control in critical energy infrastructure
Define operating systems configurations (Red Hat, VMware, Windows Server) tailored to project needs
Configure and document IS tools such as Veeam Backup, McAfee, and others
Develop and maintain firewalls and switches (Cisco, Fortinet, etc.) and support network segmentation
Manage system security including firewalls, group policy objects (GPO), patching and updates
Evaluate and respond to reported security vulnerabilities, assessing their impact and proposing mitigations
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) alongside customers
Create and implement concepts for long-term maintenance and lifecycle patch management
Advise customers on IT security best practices in critical infrastructure environments
Collaborate with internal stakeholders during bid, engineering, and maintenance phases to uphold cybersecurity standards
Your skills
Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in IT system architecture and cybersecurity
Proficiency in script-based programming (e.g. Bash) and virtualization platforms (e.g. ESXi)
Sound knowledge of IT/OT network architectures in industrial environments
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles for critical infrastructure environments
Fluent in French, English and Dutch.
Experience with cloud computing and containerized systems
Basic knowledge of project management methodologies
Willingness to travel occasionally to our clients (e.g. France, Netherlands, Maghreb...)
