About the roleJan De Nul Group offers specialised services for the offshore renewable energy market. Whether it concerns seabed preparation, scour protection, subsea cables, umbilicals, monopile or jacket foundations, wind turbines or offshore substations: everything is always tailored to the needs of the client and on an EPC-basis if required. Do you want to be part of our international team? As a Geotechnical Engineer you will be working on our Offshore Renewables projects.What you'll do
  • Review and interpret geotechnical reports and data to ensure accurate analysis and application.
  • Conduct detailed geotechnical assessments for offshore projects, focusing on pile driveability, jacking, and foundation design.
  • Develop and maintain geotechnical software tools.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including operational teams, project management, subcontractors, clients, and marine specialists.
  • Provide expert advice and support on geotechnical topics to various departments within JDN.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documents, and recommendations.
  • Offer on-site support during pile installation and jacking operations, solving engineering problems as they arise.
  • Perform back calculations to improve future geotechnical predictions.
  • Evaluate and mitigate soil-related risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated with advancements in geotechnical engineering and offshore technology.
  • Participate in industry research projects.
What do you need?You have a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences with option Construction and are interested in geotechnics or you have the Dutch equivalent degree of Master of Science in Civil Engineering or Geotechnics. You have a specific affinity for soil mechanics and geotechnics. You have a first relevant work experience in offshore installation techniques and/or theoretical soil mechanics. Be flexible to visit project sites/vessels for short periods.
