Position Overview:We are currently seeking a seasoned Mainframe Developer and Technical Analyst to join an established team working on mission-critical systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of back-end applications in a high-demand environment, with a particular focus on COBOL technologies.Technical and Soft Skills:
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Mainframe Developer with expertise in COBOL (Visual COBOL and/or Procobol).
Strong background in relational databases, particularly Oracle.Proficiency in Unix scripting and administration (preferably on Solaris and Linux platforms).Familiarity with a range of database systems including Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.Ability to manage complex development tasks independently and deliver high-quality results on schedule.Organized, autonomous, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mainframe-based applications using Visual COBOL and Procobol.Write and optimize SQL queries for Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases.Perform systems analysis to understand and document business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.Develop and maintain Unix and Shell scripts within Solaris and Linux environments.Collaborate with team members to identify risks, define timelines, and report progress clearly and proactively.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with a problem-solving mindset.Ensure that development follows best practices and documentation standards.What We Offer
