About the Role Become part of the Legal & Compliance team
The Legal & Compliance team is looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist with a strong background in payments, securities, and technology policy. As part of the Regulatory Affairs team, you will take responsibility for financial and technology policy developments around the world, by identifying, tracking, assessing, advising on compliance and reporting on new regulations.
As Regulatory Affairs Specialist you will coordinate internal stakeholder groups and interact with numerous other teams within Swift, to help position Swift on financial and technology regulations affecting our cooperative and our user community.   • Identifying and tracking legislation and regulations in priority jurisdictions around the world, leveraging a variety of sources including law firms, consultancies, reg-tech tools, events and newsletters.
  • Leading regulatory impact assessments, advise on compliance and cooperate with the Public Affairs team on advocacy.
  • Acting as centre of expertise in relevant financial and technology policy areas, advising stakeholders on relevance to Swift and our user community.
  • Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain working groups.
  • Contributing to risk assessments, reporting and structured follow up on regulatory actions to build Swift’s regulatory framework.
  • Driving procedural, operational and technological improvements in Regulatory Affairs, as well as the wider Legal & Compliance team.
  • Performing as a true team player, ready to back each other up and support one another in a busy work environment.
  • Contributing to strengthen and mature Swift’s Regulatory Affairs team, by speaking up and sharing ideas.
  • Expanding knowledge of regulatory and industry trends through networking, external engagements and training, including conferences and events.
Skills and qualifications
  • University degree in law, politics or other relevant advanced degree
  • Working experience in financial and technology policy across payments, securities, including outsourcing and operational resilience
  • Understanding of policy and legislative procedures in the EU and other priority jurisdictions (including financial regulatory bodies)
  • Fluent in English
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to distill legal requirements into impact and actions, and understand wider regulatory trends
  • Positivity, creative thinking, constructive attitude and an open mind
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, and a record of effective working relationship with stakeholders from different disciplines
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate stakeholder groups
