Learn more about how our innovative piping products and design services can engineer confidence into your build by visiting our website.The RoleAs a Lab Technician, you'll plays a multifaceted role in supporting product evaluation, training, quality assurance, tool management, safety, and overall efficiency within Victaulic's operations.What you will do
  • Manage the entire product evaluation process, from request to return, including lab evaluation, testing, documentation, report issuance, data management, and product handling. Coordinate with internal and external partners as needed.
  • Prepare, assemble, and test samples for product evaluations, demonstrations, or assigned projects using facility equipment. Maintain inventory of products, pipes, and equipment, and ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist in training sessions and seminars for Victaulic staff and visitors, maintaining demo materials as directed. Coordinate with Marketing to schedule and conduct sales and visitor demonstrations as needed.
  • Support product inspections and address internal inquiries regarding product and packaging as directed by the Quality Manager. Maintain quality records and promptly report findings with a sense of urgency and priority.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of Victaulic pipe preparation tools. Demonstrate tools for visitors and during pipe preparation for evaluations or projects. Conduct lab evaluations on these tools and stay updated on Victaulic tool advancements.
  • Understand the contents of Victaulic literature required for proper product installation. Know where to locate and utilize relevant information within our literature. Maintain updated knowledge of Victaulic products.
  • Coordinate calibration of product analysis and test equipment for all branches in Europe.
  • Assemble, maintain, inspect, service and troubleshoot Victaulic pipe preparation tools at Victaulic facilities or at customer's locations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to the 5S philosophy. Follow and advocate safety protocols consistently, whether at Victaulic facilities or customer locations. Ensure equipment is used and maintained properly according to a planned schedule or as needed.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks, contributing to the development of procedures, forms, and checklists to enhance communication within the Application Engineering group, Quality, and other departments.
  • Perform additional related tasks and projects as assigned by the Manager of Application Engineering
About You
  • High School or Technical School Graduate.
  • Equivalent work experience
  • Good communication skills, fluent in English, written and oral.
  • Knowledge of piping systems is preferred, familiarity with Victaulic products is a plus.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to convey technical concepts in layman's terms.
  • Organizational skills and ability to set priorities required.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, shop math, precision instrument reading, chart/graph preparation and record keeping.
  • Capable of using basic level mechanical laboratory equipment.
  • Understanding of calibration methodology.
  • Self-motivated and desire to excel.
  • Use of computer and common software.
