About the roleLocation: Belgium - Beringen, Netherlands - GeleenHours: Full-TimeType of Contract: PermanentWe rise to the challengeAs Mechanical Engineer, you ensure that the mechanical equipment of the plants are compliant with the legal requirements and the Borealis specifications. You are responsible for the development, the maintenance and the optimisation of all the “equipment strategies” for the production installations in Borealis Beringen and Geleen.This is a grasp of your responsibilities:
  • Deliver high level of expertise and have deep knowledge in the assigned technology on local site level and towards the European assets on request basis
  • Ensure maximisation of OAE/reliability and drive implementation long term equipment strategies.
  • Maintain internal and external networking in the assigned technology, to exert influence for Borealis and keep awareness of potential developments.
  • Provide technical expert advices, calculations and engineering activities to plant availability and projects on local site level, across some plants and also first exposure outside own location.
  • Apply HSE and Q requirement in all areas of the responsibility
  • Execute and implement plant availability strategies
  • Develop local/group Procedures and Operative Processes and Instructions
  • Act as internal trainer and coach in his/her area of expertise Implement change management processes in own area of expertise
  • Support engineering partners for the assigned technology and are counterpart to procurement in technical/supplier issues (bid evaluations, buying teams, TCO, supplier classification)
  • Responsible for specifications on revisions of the equipment in the technical expertise area
You will take part in the "on call" pool mechanical supervision and we give you the opportunity to be a valuable member of the rotating equipment network.About youThis is who we are looking for:A Master in respective Engineering technology, who has a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the area as an expert. You are recognised for
your deep and broad experience and can qualify yourself as a technical expert in rotating equipment. Project management skills are your second nature, it goes without saying that analytical thinking, organisation skills, business understanding and supervision & motivation of small teams are part of those skills. You are achievement oriented, favour teamwork and stimulate positive & constructive behaviour.
Networking in an international and multicultural context and being able to influence a wide range of people is something you like.
