As Legal Counsel, you will provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice across a wide range of commercial matters and support internal stakeholders in achieving strategic and operational goals. The role includes exposure to general business law and real estate matters, offering a broad and stimulating scope.Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g. sales, purchasing, services, distribution, licensing, etc.)Advise internal departments on legal aspects of commercial operations, risk management, and complianceProvide legal guidance on general business law matters, including corporate housekeepingSupport in real estate matters such as lease agreements and property transactions (as needed)Liaise with external counsel on specialized legal topics or disputesMonitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring legal risks are identified and managedContribute to the development and improvement of internal legal policies, templates, and proceduresStrategic legal role with business impactBroad scope across commercial & business lawMaster's degree in Law (Belgian university)Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in commercial law, ideally gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal departmentStrong drafting and negotiation skills in both Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plusSolid knowledge of general business law; experience in real estate is an assetExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholdersPragmatic, solution-oriented, and business-mindedOur client, a well-established and dynamic company located in the Mechelen area, is seeking a Legal Counsel with strong expertise in Commercial Law to support and guide its growing business.
