
SCADA Engineer - Protection & Control

- Engineering and configuration of protection relays in high-voltage and distribution substations.
- Implementation of IEC 61850 bay engineering, including configuration of protocols (MMS, GOOSE).
- Programming and configuration of RTUs (e.g., RTU500) for control and remote operation of breakers.
- Engineering activities related to system architecture, signal handling, and interface between protection and control.
- Configuration and testing with IEC 61850 tools such as IET600, PCM600, Digsi, IED Scout (Omicron) or equivalent.
- Use of Ethernet protocol sniffers (e.g., Wireshark) and ensuring correct implementation of redundancy protocols (RSTP, HSR, PRP).
- Documentation, testing support, and system validation.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Required qualifications :- Master's degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent by experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in SCADA engineering or substation automation
- Experience working with IEC 61850
- Hands-on experience with RTU500 configuration and engineering tools (RTUtil, HMIEditor, Multiprog)
- Understanding of HV substation layouts and components (e.g. coupling field, transformer field, line field)
- Familiarity with SCADA specifications and documentation standards
- Good command of Dutch or French (preferably both)
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders
- Proactive attitude and ability to work independently as well as in a team
