Are you ready for a new challenge in the exciting field of mobile robotics? Our multinational automation company specializes in creating innovative mobile robotics systems, and we are looking for a talented and passionate Safety & Gateway Software Engineer to join our team in Antwerp, Belgium.
You will be part of an international and multicultural team that is responsible for developing robotics software for our AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles).More specifically, you will be responsible, together with the product teams, for developing controls software for mobile robots. As part of an international and multicultural team within the software development organization, you will be responsible for delivering this software for our global customers, in partnership with our product management, application engineering and customer service groups. As a Senior Vehicle Software Engineer you are responsible for the design and implementation of the on-board software, which manages the complete behavior of the truck including navigation, driving & lift movements.- You are involved from start to finish of the process — from the refinement of requirements through design & implementation of the solution to testing, validation and documentation.
- You collaborate with mechatronics, safety, production, testing and customer service colleagues internationally.
- You support the product validation team which is responsible for testing the functionalities of the application you developed and the application engineers who commission your application at our customers facilities.
- You act as a mentor to more junior Vehicle Software Engineers and contribute to shaping architectural improvements in the evolution of the on-board software.What we offer:Responsibilities:
  • You are responsible for the continuous development of the vehicle control software on our AGVs
  • You develop software as described by the User Stories and perform Unit Tests.
  • You document your software so that other team members and departments understand your software
  • You are involved from start to finish of the product life cycle
  • You adhere to the scaled agile way of working, including participation in dailies and retrospectives
  • You take – together with the other team members - ownership of the team results and pro-actively support other team members in delivering the committed backlog
  • You follow the evolutions in software development and apply then in a pragmatic way
  • You adhere to the proposed development guidelines and tools
  • You participate in Development Chapter and contribute to best practices on software development
Tasks and Qualifications:You bring:
  • Substantial programming experience in C/C++.
  • Advanced knowledge of embedded software and real time operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of working in Linux.
  • Proven experience in motion control, automation or robotics.

  • Your experience in the intralogistics industry, warehouse automation or material handling is a plus
  • You have professional proficiency in English. If you master Dutch or German, that's a plus.
  • OK with traveling abroad occasionally for work.
