Make your mark for patientsAt UCB we are committed to improving patients' lives and advancing scientific and medical knowledge through a variety of initiatives supported by our External Funding program.To support our commitment, we are seeking graduates who are enthusiastic, great communicators and team players to join our Graduate Development Program in the External Funding team, based out of our HQ office in Brussels, Belgium or Slough, UK.About the Job:This is a structured development program designed to kickstart your career and allow you to grow both personally and professionally, while making an impact in the organization.The Graduate Development Program in External Funding is a 2-year rotational program consisting of 2 rotations of 12 months across the teams managing External Funding (Funding & Grants) and External Research Opportunities at UCB.Through this program, you will get exposure to the internal processes and systems related to external funding, internal and external stakeholders, industry codes and practices and gain practical, hands-on experience that will allow you to build a strong foundation to pursue several possible career avenues in the pharma industry and beyond!.Who you’ll work withYou will have the opportunity to work closely with a variety of stakeholders, backgrounds, experience levels across our global organisation. You will be part of a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about creating value for patients now and into the future. You will also have the chance to interact with experienced managers who will provide guidance and coaching throughout your rotations.What you’ll do:
  • You will be assigned to different projects that will allow you to develop essential skills including communication skills, stakeholder management, project management and strategic, tactical and operational thinking.
  • Moderate and facilitate the communication with the UCB funding community and external stakeholders.
  • Build stakeholder relationships across our global organisation.
  • Contribute to the operational aspects of the process of external funding opportunities and external research and collaborations activities.
  • Work in close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to proactively identify best practices, process and system-related improvements needed to ensure high standards of quality delivery.
Interested? For this position, you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
  • Recently graduated, with less than 2 years relevant work experience in fields including but not limited to: Science/ Business administration/ Communication/Education/ Marketing/International relations/Customer service
  • Creative, Outspoken, Adaptable and Great communicator.
  • Team-oriented, social, energetic, and passionate about effecting meaningful change and making a difference.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize, be organized and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English
