Welcoming you to the teamIn this role, you will be part of the team responsible to conduct a significant investment project, that includes the expansion of an existing plant and implementation of new industrial capacities for the G&T (Generation and Transmission) Business Group of Nexans.The location is based in Charleroi, where the main investment will be conducted, with travels on other European countries for the other parts of the project.Getting a flying startThe Project Controller works in close collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure that project will be delivered according to initial requirements, more precisely, it encloses all the following activities:
  • Be the business partner of the Project Manager and bring support on all financial topics.
  • Implement and maintain tools and process enabling an accurate monitoring of project financials.
  • Take part in all relevant activities of the project and have regular interactions with project key stakeholders to have a good overview on the progress, the risks and opportunities, and their possible impacts on the project P&L.
  • Together with the Project Manager, challenge the project team to get the most accurate picture of the project development.
  • Seek for opportunities and Variation Orders when applicable.
  • Track every deviation and assess their impact on financials.
  • Maintain, at all point in the project execution life, the best/robust view at completion, as well as control of the phasing over calendar periods.
  • Provide a clear and detailed reporting enabling management to rapidly have an understanding of project progress, and of any deviation or risk of deviations with budget and forecast.
The Project controller hierarchically reports to the Grid BU Finance Director and operationally to the Project Manager.How you make an impact

Your starting point when you join :
  • Education: Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant financial field, or with Engineer background and relevant financial experience.
  • Experience: at least 5 years in an industrial / project context.
  • Large work capacity, ability and experience to work in an international environment.
  • Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills, and high sense of quality and on-time performance.
  • Advanced user of Excel, and relevant experience working with SAP. Power BI (or similar tool) user experience is a plus.
  • Experience reviewing and understanding contracts and other legal documents.
  • Good communication and co-operation skills.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
