We are looking for an EMEA AccountantThe Accountant is responsible for performing accounting work and controls, including compilation, consolidation, reporting and analysis of financial data, for the assigned legal entities located in the EMEA region, in full compliance with all local and global rules, policies and accounting standards.Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Performs daily accounting activities:
  • Posts and reconciles the bank statements.
  • Reconciles AR, AP and GL balances.
  • Handles accounting related queries.
  • Supports the Senior Accountant and EMEA Accounting Manager in ad hoc analysis requests and projects.
Executes and controls the month-end closing activities:
  • Reconciles monthly all balance sheet accounts in SAP and Blackline, as assigned.
  • Supports financial analysis for month-end closing.
Ensures accounting compliance:
  • Supports the annual external and occasional internal audits.
  • Maintains updated accounting related work instructions.
  • Assists colleagues and acts as back-up of the other Accountants.
  • Proposes efficiency improvements in accounting systems, processes and procedures.
  • Actively participates in company driven projects.
  • Supports the annual budget and quarterly forecast process.
What do we expect from you?
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance/accounting role, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent by experience.
  • Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Solid experience with accounting / ERP systems (SAP or similar, Blackline).
  • Strong understanding of the accounting principles.
  • Works proactively and mostly without supervision.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Good knowledge of English and Dutch (written and spoken).
