Together, we make the difference!What you'll doAs a System Engineer Servers & Datacenter, you are responsible, among other things, for the design, security, and maintenance of the datacenter and server infrastructure at Jan De Nul. This includes :
Managing the server hardware and server virtualization;
Maintaining, together with your colleagues, the unified communications and email environments;
In addition to the extensive on-premise infrastructure, you also assist in managing our cloud infrastructure.
Based on your knowledge of various technologies, you define projects that you carry out independently, together with colleagues, or with suppliers. In this way, you contribute to building a high-performance, scalable, and stable ICT environment. You help determine the concepts and standards of this environment, all in accordance with the company's vision and strategy. Together with your fellow system engineers, you are also the final internal link in the ICT department’s support process. Cybersecurity is very important to you, so you incorporate this as a core value in all your projects and tasks.What do you need?As a system engineer, you hold at least a Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field and have experience in a similar role. You possess solid knowledge of datacenter technologies and virtualization. You work in a structured manner and have a strong sense of responsibility. You live and breathe security.You are a specialist in several of the following areas:
Datacenter infrastructure
On-premise virtualization (VMware vSphere, Red Hat OpenShift, K8s/K3s, ProxMox, etc.)
Cloud (AWS & Azure)
MS Exchange, Veritas Enterprise Vault & email security
M365 (SharePoint, Teams, Forms, etc.)
In addition, you have a healthy interest in backup software (Veeam, Cohesity, etc.), telephony (including VoIP), Unified Communications and videoconferencing, scripting & automation, antivirus & security concepts, and monitoring (Zabbix).You have knowledge of ITIL and experience with ticketing tools.You work methodically and accurately and learn quickly. You can lead a project from start to finish and are skilled in guiding external partners.
