As a Commercial Controller and together with the Plant Controller and Finance Director, you will coordinate and execute the monthly reporting and variance analysis as well as financial planning processes (forecasting and budgeting) for the Frozen Flanders Business Unit (€250M in sales, international 3rd party- and intercompany sales). You will act as a business partner to reach overall company objectives.Your primary duties and responsibilitiesMonthly financial management reporting & analysis
  • Perform monthly management consolidation and financial reporting process (Commercial P&L)
  • Perform variance analysis (Price Volume Mix, including waterfall charts) to forecast, budget and prior year
  • Keep oversight of product and customer profitability, including periodic updates on postponed rebates
Financial Planning (forecasting & budgeting)
  • Execute the commercial budget process
  • Contribute in the preparation of the monthly rolling forecast. Maintain and improve forecast accuracy
  • Contribute to the monthly financial outlook and escalate variances
Business Partnering
  • Collaborate effectively with the Sales Director and Sales Managers to monitor and improve product and customer profitability
  • Participate in financial modeling, scenario analysis, monitor the impact of sales prices increases (particularly monitoring the offset of input inflation)
  • Interact with all levels and functional areas of the organization to obtain a key understanding of business drivers. Meet company objectives by pro-actively identifying risks and opportunities, providing actionable management information, challenging the business and following up on remediation and/or action plans.
  • Work closely with both local, divisional and corporate finance teams
Procedures and policies
  • Ensure compliance with divisional and corporate procedures
Systems
  • Improve data visualization, storytelling and increase use of data-based decision making through the use of BI systems (Qlikview and IBM Planning Analytics / Tm1)
Your knowledge and competencies
  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an industrial company that is operating internationally
  • Master’s degree in economics or equivalent (MBA/CMA)
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, other languages, especially French are an asset
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proven track record of business partnering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint), knowledge of ERP (SAP) and experience with BI tools (QlikView & IBM Planning Analytics / TM1)
  • Strong drive, entrepreneurial and can-do attitude
