Contract Commercial Manager Belgium SiteWe are currently recruiting for a Contract Commercial Manager (contract) to be based on site in Antwerp, Belgium with extensive experience in managing construction contractors in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.The successful candidate will be part of the on site construction management team and will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of construction contracts, all of which are placed in the clients name.The primary duties of the role entail:
All aspects of construction contractor contract administration, with particular focus on claims management
Review and respond to any construction contractor claims on behalf of the client
Analyse claims from construction contractors and prepare view on entitlement, liaising with related functions as required
Present claim position to the construction management team and Client teams
Following client approval, negotiate claim settlements with construction contractor
Prepare claim settlement documentation, including contact amendments as required
Own and maintain Claims Register, including status of all claims received
Management of contractual correspondence, including preparation of letters and other contractual notices to construction contractors
Qualifications & Attributes
Hold appropriate professional technical or legal qualification
Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in resolution of construction claims for Chemical and Oil & Gas industries, preferably including arbitration / adjudication experience.
Have the ability to analyse and interpret complex and detailed commercial and contractual issues and to develop and present solutions
Have the ability to work collaboratively with clients and contractors
Have the ability to work independently and as part of the project management team.
Key skills required include problem solving, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and the ability to think strategically
Have very good level of written and spoken English, Dutch is a plus
Have good experience in MS Office programs with complex Excel files
