We're looking for an Environment, Health and Safety specialist to join our EHS team!You will initially work for minimum one year in our Belgium headquarters, collaborating within our corporate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department. During this period, you will get to learn the basic semiconductor clean room activities, their associated EHS risks and how to manage them. You will also follow up the EHS design review- and the permitting process for the chip technology pilot line in Malaga.After this period, your pioneering journey starts with a relocation to Malaga (Spain), During the construction of the new pilot line you will be imec's local EHS representative. Once the pilot line is started up, you will be responsible for the daily EHS management. This includes:
executing EHS risk assessments for all operational activities
screening operational changes or new projects on EHS risks
providing EHS training
investigating and following up EHS incidents/accidents according to local and imec corporate standards
organizing internal EHS audits and self-inspections
setting up robust emergency response plans and training for the local emergency response team
managing the site security on the imec premises
providing health surveillance for imec's employees
managing contractor safety
acting as a business partner for the Malaga operations as towards corporate EHS
being a spokesperson in case of governmental EHS audits and inspections
being a member of the local EHS council

You are a team player with a passion for EHS
You have a hands-on mentality with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
You are a civil or industrial engineer with a strong chemical background.
You have at least 3-5 years of experience in EHS management
You have an in-depth knowledge of Spanish EHS legislation
You are flexible to relocate to Malaga (Spain), after an initial 1-year period in Belgium.
Proficiency in Spanish is required, along with a good command of English.
