Information Security Officer - Advisory RoleWe are a team of approximately 30 Information Security Officers, each responsible for a specific domain within a large organization (e.g., business entity, technology area, or agile release train). We collaborate closely to support one another and continuously improve our practices.For this position, we are seeking an ISO who will oversee the information security posture of an insurance entity, including several affiliated companies.Role OverviewThe Information Security Officer (ISO) acts as a strategic advisor and coordinator for all matters related to information security within their assigned scope. This includes:
Advising on information security topics
Supporting the business in managing information security risks
Assessing and challenging the effectiveness of security controls, processes, and action plans
Key Responsibilities
Conduct risk assessments and advise on risk treatment strategies
Review and follow up on security action plans and due dates
Provide expert input on security aspects of projects, initiatives, and ad hoc queries
Roll out security initiatives across the organization
Ensure consistent implementation and management of security controls and processes
Report quarterly to senior management on risk status, progress of action plans, phishing results, and incidents
Participate in various security processes such as vendor assessments, incident handling, and data loss prevention (DLP) cases
Profile Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in an information security advisory role (e.g., ISO, risk management)
Strong IT background enabling thorough risk analysis and high-quality recommendations
This is not a hands-on technical role (e.g., SOC analyst, security engineer) or a project management position
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are a plus
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
Ability to explain technical security concepts to diverse audiences (technical teams, business stakeholders, management)
Proactive mindset and ability to take initiative
