- Express and purify engineered proteins for downstream evaluation.
- Support the development of cell-based assays that recapitulate various aspects of the biology of the blood-brain barrier.
- Evaluate drugs for their ability to interfere with pathways involved in the blood-brain barrier homeostasis.
- Contribute to the development of engineered cell lines to support assay development.
- Collaborate with other scientists for the design of in vivo studies aiming at the evaluation of selected molecules in relevant disease models.
- Comply with relevant regulations, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in lab management activities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in biochemistry, biology, life sciences or related field.
- At least 5 years experience in a comparable position in a biotech/industrial environment.
- Experience in protein purification techniques such as affinity chromatography, IEX, HIC and SEC.
- Experience in vector design and recombinant protein expression in eukaryotic systems.
- Knowledge of protein chemistry techniques, such as SDS-PAGE, western-blot, or ELISA. Experience with FACS or Biacore/Octet would be an additional asset.
- Good knowledge of molecular biology and cloning techniques. Knowledge of CRISPR-Cas9 and/or AAV or lentiviral vectors is a plus.
- Experience in cell culture techniques, including ideally primary cell culture.
- Well organized, flexible, and rigorous. Team-spirit oriented. Ability and willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in CNS biology is a plus.
