Our employees tell us that the number one reason they enjoy working for Cochlear is the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives.Cochlear is looking for Senior Software Engineer to join Device Drivers Team based in our office in Mechelen, Belgium.The Senior Software Engineer will develop, document, and test the Cochlear Device Driver Platform related software system and all related software tools for use in clinics, audiological centres, and research centres. You will work with a product that really makes a difference to people´s life. You will see the software you have developed being used in the clinics to adjust the Cochlear Implant system and help children and adults to be able to live a full life with restored hearing.More specifically you will:To develop software within an Agile development framework based on best practices.To develop cross-platform libraries in C++20 with a managed C++/CLI wrapper for integration in .NET.To develop application code in C# in a .NET / WPF environment, that provides communication with software drivers and database access libraries.Apply test driven development to support the software development activities.Contribute with the maintenance of the test automation and CI/CD platform (e.g. NUnit, TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)Collaborate with other departments to ensure a credible understanding of the user and business needs and translate this into exceptional software.Writing and implementing efficient code and documentation, enforcing standards and practices with the software development team.Identifying, recommending, and implementing process and policy improvements within the IT environment.Contribute with ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables.Essential SkillsMinimum 3 years of experience in in a full lifecycle commercial software development environment.Solid understanding of object-oriented development and design.Strong experience working with Agile delivery methodologies.Good writing and presentation skills.Good verbal and written English language skills.Strong interpersonal and time management skills.What we offerAn attractive remuneration package and flexible extra-legal benefitsAn extensive onboarding and training programAn enjoyable work environment with attention to life-work balance and homeworkingA stimulating environment with growth opportunities and opportunity to meet multi-disciplinary colleagues across the globeThis is your chance to be part of a premier organization with a great culture, working in a dynamic, growing and rapidly evolving environment to deliver outstanding results that benefit our customers every day.
