Would you like to work with us to guide our energy networks towards a carbon-neutral future?Would you like to further develop your legal career within a growing international group and be part of ambitious and stimulating projects that will play a crucial role in the Belgian and international energy landscape?Our Legal Department at our head office in Brussels is looking for a Corporate Legal & Compliance Counsel.Job purposeJoin our team as a Corporate Legal & Compliance Counsel and play a crucial role in the governance of our group, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory obligations (including those applicable to listed companies) and contributing to our ethics and compliance programmeAs a contact person for corporate legal, governance and compliance matters within Fluxys Group and its subsidiaries, you will be responsible for shaping and enforcing our ethics and compliance programmeYour role will be to ensure proper compliance with laws and regulations and to promote a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability within the organisation.Your responsibilities
  • Governance Expertise: You will support Fluxys Group's General Secretariat, ensuring compliance with corporate governance principles, keeping corporate documents up to date and managing general corporate housekeeping, including the specific requirements for listed companies
  • Legal Advice & Monitoring of Legislation: You will proactively monitor relevant legislation at group level and advise management. You will manage and structure legal knowledge and process-related information to improve the group's legal organisation.
You will advise on all kinds of corporate matters, governance and compliance * Involvement in Projects: You will actively participate in interdisciplinary projects, covering legal aspects in various domains and assessing and managing the associated risks
  • Drafting and Review of Documents: You will draft a wide range of legal, statutory and regulatory documentation, such as contracts, protocols, articles of association, shared services agreements and policy documents
  • Compliance: You will develop and implement ethics and compliance programmes and policies at group level. You will help monitor data-related and sustainability legislation such as the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), AI Act, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). You will create training and awareness campaigns. You will also report to management on the status of the compliance programme and promote the ethical culture within the organisation
  • Networking: You will forge valuable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Occasional travel may be required.About you
  • You hold a master's degree in law and have in-depth knowledge of company law and/or compliance, with a focus on data-related and sustainability legislation
  • You have at least 10 years' experience in corporate housekeeping and/or ethics and compliance, as well as experience in project and contract management. You possess excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail. Data protection officer (DPO) certification would be an advantage
  • You are a proactive, pragmatic and flexible team player with a flair for creativity
  • You are results-oriented and able to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time pressure
  • You enjoy working with other non-legal departments and have good powers of persuasion
  • You speak fluent Dutch and/or French and have a good spoken and written knowledge of English.
