In search of a Lead USV SurveyorGEOxyz is looking for a forward-thinking and technically skilled Lead USV (Unmanned Surface Vessel) Surveyor to lead the way in drone-based survey operations. This is a senior-level position with a clear mission: lay the groundwork for a dedicated USV team and support the transition from traditional to remote and autonomous survey methods.The Lead USV Surveyor will play a key role in integrating innovative technologies into real-world marine survey projects. This role involves close collaboration with the internal Innovations and Drone Teams, who are actively designing and building custom USV platforms, to ensure their full capabilities are applied in operational settings.As Lead USV Surveyor you are responsible for:Operational leadership: Responsible for the planning and execution of USV surveys, acting as the main technical and logistical contact throughout project phases.Innovation & collaboration: Work closely with Innovations and Drone Teams to deploy internally developed USV systems, identify use cases, test new integrations, and improve real-world performance.Methodology & standardisation: Develop tailored workflows, procedures, and checklists for USV operations in line with existing survey and QHSE standards.Team development: Mentor internal staff, support recruitment, and help establish a dedicated USV team.Project support & execution: Ensure seamless integration of USV operations into broader project plans by working in coordination with Project Managers, Surveyors, GeoScience, Survey Support, and LABO departments.What do we expect from you?Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine survey operations, with a demonstrated interest or experience in remote or autonomous platforms.Hands-on experience with hydrographic and/or geophysical survey systems and software.Familiarity with or interest in USV piloting, mission planning, and remote monitoring tools.Passion for innovation, process improvement, and future-focused operations.Strong communication skills, with the ability to align and coordinate cross-functional teams.A proactive, self-driven mindset with the ability to take ownership and work independently.What do we offer you?A challenging role in a fast-growing environment.A positive work atmosphere within a young, dynamic team.Opportunities for personal and professional growth within the company.
