- The ‘go to’ individual and primary legal support for Corporate Procurement (Fuel team) and Express Aviation stakeholders, transactional activity for jet aviation and SAF-related contracts, developing an understanding of IATA fuel supply agreements, working alongside the business to develop innovative SAF related fuel investment solutions, framework, fuel purchase, location supply agreements, and SAF ‘book and claim’ arrangements.
- Ensure that contractual terms align with business objectives and comply with relevant legal regulations, and the Group’s ESG and SCOPE reliant fuel policies.
- Proactively driving SAF projects and working closely with the engagement of other stakeholders including Insurance and Risk Management, Tax, Global Trade Law Office, and other Legal colleagues.
- Advising stakeholders on all their contractual queries on fuel and SAF-related legal matters including, as required, aviation related environmental trading schemes, CORSIA, carbon credit trading and similar initiatives from an aviation perspective.
- Working with Aviation Legal colleagues to develop and support the maintenance of fuel-related contract templates.
- Stay abreast of international and regional regulations governing aviation fuel, ensuring compliance in all aspects of operations.
- Provide legal advice to ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and aviation industry regulations.
- Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with fuel-related transactions and operations.
- Develop strategies to protect the organization's interests in aviation sustainability-related contractual relationships.
- Handle and resolve legal disputes related to aviation fuel, including negotiations, mediation, and litigation if required.
- Conduct legal due diligence on sustainability-related matters in investments, mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
- Provide training to relevant teams on legal aspects of aviation fuel transactions and compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as legal counsel, ideally with the focus on ESG and/or fuel-related matters
- In-depth knowledge of aviation legal practices and regulations
