We are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic Interim Legal Counsel to join Nu Skin. It concerns a temporary replacement with an immediate start date. You will work from our office in Brussels (Belgium). In your role as Interim Legal Counsel you will report to the Legal Director Europe & Africa and will work in close collaboration with the local management team. You will serve as an legal expert for mainly Western and Northern Europe to ensure compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.In this role your main tasks will include:
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements for doing business in the markets of responsibility, with a particular focus on France, the United Kingdom and Spain
  • Acting as the main person of contact on legal matters for the management and business teams and providing legal guidance and advice to them on business initiatives and other local matters
  • Drafting, reviewing and supporting the negotiation of commercial agreements
  • Assisting in legal issues related to distributor compliance (e.g., social media, e-commerce, advertisement, consumer protection, anti-trust regulations, privacy, …)
  • Handling complaints of distributors and consumers; managing litigation and coordinating outside legal counsels
  • Monitoring and staying abreast of legal developments in direct and distance selling in all markets of responsibility
Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in law
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an in-house legal counsel in an international company.
  • Thorough understanding of EU Commercial, Consumer Protection and Privacy Laws
  • Experience with e-commerce, digital content and consumer-facing technology issues, and/or with direct selling are a strong asset
  • Excellent English and French skills, both written and verbal, and knowledge of Dutch is a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
